I have already created a custom family picture directory in version 8.5. We recently upgraded to 9.0. I had to recreate the custom directory. Now when I tried to insert the family picture field for the custom directory and try to view that directory. I get an error "This report could not be generated because of the error: Field must be a General field".
After that I decided to make a simple directory. Family last name and included the family picture. The family last name shows up, but the picture does not. This family picture shows up on the can report that comes with the software. If the picture shows up on the powerchurch can report, why doesn't if show up on a custom report?
Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong or a work around for this. We are anxious to get our picture directory complete very soon.
Thanks so much for your help!

In my sample, I listed the Family last name first and then the family picture for the output fields. The family picture still does not show up when I view the report on the screen.
Before the displaying the report, I edited the output layout. I manually had to add in the family picture which I added after the Family Last name. I have the tutorial and read the chapter on custom reports and read up on adding a picture in a report.
My custom report which displayed the family picture was working in ver 8.5 so I'm confused why I can't get the family picture to disply in my custom report for ver 9.0.

I have found out why this has not been working for me.
I was entering family_picture in the field box not the file box. Here is the explantion on how to correctly add a picture in a report.
"If you need to add the picture to the form, just use the Picture/ActiveX Bound Control tool to add it.
When you do, use the option to add the field from a file and simply enter "family_picture" or "profile_picture" (without the quotes) in the "file"
field and that should work.
Just make sure you have included the picture as an output field."
