Just curious as to why there has been no announcement of an MR dated when 1/25/2010 when it is available for download?

MR 1/25/2010?
*Still* learning... and gratefully so!

Version 11 should automatically notify you that there's a new version available.Eden Whitehead wrote:Just curious as to why there has been no announcement of an MR dated when 1/25/2010 when it is available for download?

Re: MR 1/25/2010?
Neil -- Yes, my laptop at home did exactly that on Tuesday, and I did the download/install on that computer. But when I came into the office today, the desktop told me I already had the latest MR installed, except it also reported I had the 1/6/2010 MR installed, even though I had in fact installed the 1/21/2010 MR (and I had seen the posts on that issue, so wasn't concerned about it; just puzzled it didn't tell me about needing 1/25/2010 MR).Version 11 should automatically notify you that there's a new version available.
Zorak -- Thought that might be the case. The work you all do at PC+ is absolutely AMAZING! Not having time to publish the announcement is a small detail. I pray for all of you that the Lord continue to prosper the work of your hands.Understaffed and overworked!
Blessings,
Eden

Re: MR 1/25/2010?
The expected version numbering scheme did not work like I expected and it caused a problem. This was fixed and will no longer be a problem after the 1/25 build.

Re: MR 1/25/2010?
Neil,
If MR 1/6/2010 is installed - and probably is because it would automatically reload after MR 1/21/2010 was installed - PC will not automatically go and get the new release. You need to manually download the 1/25/2010 release and install it to have the automatic notification feature work again.
Take a look at the posts that Tracy references to see why.

I didn't have the same issue you had with the previous MRs reverting to the older one. I usually download the MRs manually, and so I installed the 1/21/10 manually. I had forgotten about the auto-update problem, and didn't think twice when the program told me about the update.
