Contributions were posted on 01/09/2011. Later I found some double entries and I did not know how to edit, so I started over using a new date of 01/10/2011, but did not post. Now, how do I either correct the posted and eliminate the unposted or eliminate the posted and post the unposted. I am not concerned about the date being shown wrong. Thanks for your help.

OK .. you've already posted so there is no going back on those. I'm going to assume you're on v11.bikemiser wrote:Contributions were posted on 01/09/2011. You're going to have to go through each Contributor in the system using the View Posted Contributions and Reverse every one dated 01/09. I'm also assuming that you posted the 01/09/11 stuff to Funds Accounting.
If you or your treasurer did not post the Contribution transaction in Funds Accounting, you can go to the Modify Unposted Transactions module in Funds Accounting and delete that transaction. Then when you do your reverses in Contributions, and get ready to post, only select these NEW reversals to post, and select the Only Update the Contributions Module option of the posting.
This will reverse the 01/09 entries and correct your Contribution data .
If you or your treasurer posted the transactions in Funds Accounting, then there's not much you can do on the Funds Accounting side right now. You will post the reversals in Contributions but select the Update Funds Accounting option of the posting. This will fix the Contributions data, and when the new transaction is posted in Funds Accounting, it will reverse the original Contribution deposit transaction.
Then when you post the 01/10/11 Contributions, you can just post and Update Funds Accounting, and everything will be fine !!
