two funds same pledge
We have 2 services, the monies are counted and recorded separately by service attended. We have started a Capital Campaign - service 1 fund# is 55 for service 2 fund # is 56. Contributors can go to either service. Is there a way to combine the pledge amounts to be accurate on the Pledge Statements and contribution statement. Ex. Total Pledge amount = $1000.00 (contribution normally made during service 1 - fund 55, contributes $300, contributor attends service 2 - fund 56 contributes $150) Total contributed to Capital Campaign is $450 with $550 still outstanding. How can this be accurately reflected?

I don't believe that you can combine them to reflect on the statement.npbcAA wrote:We have 2 services, the monies are counted and recorded separately by service attended. The question I have is why are you separating the capital fund collections. I can understand why you'd do the operating fund, but the capital campaign is churchwide??

We track amounts from both services so that we can capture the giving trend of the services. It allows us to be able to present the "focus" message appropriately.

I can understand that when it comes to normal offerings, but in this case a "Capital Campaign" is probably NOT a 'service' dependent type of offering. It is a pledge, to help pay for upgrades to or replacement of a church building. You really can't split a 'pledge' between two services because as you mentioned, any contributor could decide to attend a different service so a pledge of 500, could not be split between two different funds.npbcAA wrote:We track amounts from both services so that we can capture the giving trend of the services. I would definitely rethink this, having been in the middle of a capital campaign, and having to present the reports to the Capital Campaign committee on fulfillment, the only way to make sure that they can understand where the pledge fulfillment levels are, is if all the contributions are kept in one single fund.

Just thinking out loud here.... in version 11, would either the Designation or Memo field in the Enter Contributions screen be of any use in a situation like this?

Actually, it could be used to differentiate between the services, yet it will show up on the contribution report, and other reports as one fund.Eden Whitehead wrote:Just thinking out loud here.... in version 11, would either the Designation or Memo field in the Enter Contributions screen be of any use in a situation like this?
