The total contributions to the pledge fund is different from actual amount applied to pledge. The View Posted Contribution lists contribution amounts to the pledge fund, that was not applied to the pledge. The DO NOT APPLY TO PLEDGE is checked on the contributions, which is the same amount as the difference between the contributions and the actual amount given. Question #1: What would cause this to happen, especially since when entering a contribution in a fund with a pledge set up for the contribution, the amount is automatically applied to the pledge? Question #2: We can correct this on the ones that we find here and there, but how do we determine overall the contributions that went into the pledge fund, but was not counted towards the pledge?

If you are using the version 9 of PowerChurch Plus, there is a feature under the Contributions menu that reads "Search For Contributions Not Applied To A Pledge." This will go through all posted contributions, comparing to the pledge records, and will give you a list of CO that are not applied properly. You can select with check marks the ones that you want to apply, or simply click the Select All button.

Most times that we see contributions not applied to a pledge, it is caused by the contributions being entered before the pledge is entered. Sometimes people take an extra few weeks to turn in their pledge cards. All the while, you are entering and posting contributions that should be applied to the pledge that you haven't entered yet.

Using the above mentioned feature will get this fixed up for you.
