What we did is this. Contact the person and find out when they plan to give the one-time pledge. If its at the beginning of the pledge period, this makes it very easy.
You simply create the pledge for that Sunday or month, say 010106 thru 01/31/06. You then start the monthly pledge on 02/0106 thru 12/31/06.
However, if they are planning to give at the end of the year, you can do this:
Monthly = 01/01/06 thru 12/05/06
1 time = 12/06/06 thru 12/31/06
If they have not yet decided, well, that's a conundrum. Just pick a week at the beginning, and let the pledge show as overdue until its paid.
As you can tell, the system does not allow duplicate pledge periods for a single fund. Multiple funds can have overlapping periods, but not within the same fund.
I know, its a bit of a workaround, but for now ...
Wishlist: allow overlapping pledge dates by giving the Financial Secretary (or whoever does the pledge entry) authority to Override the current functionality.
