repeating contrribution designation

Post by Calvary_StJacobs »

We now have a repeating contribution that includes a designation. I noticed that the form for repeating contributions does not include the designation field. Can that be added? Otherwise, I have to do my designation report manually.
Thanks

That's not a bad request. It will be seen here, but I'd also write up a request listing why this is needed, and how much time it would save you, and other PCPlus users, and email that to "wishlist@powerchurch.com" . That's their request email address.

I have been researching this and the one sticking point that we have in implementing this request is the Maintain List of Designations screen allows you to specify a start and end date for the designation. Everywhere we currently allow you to choose a designation in the software (Enter Contributions, Modify Unposted, Check Reader) all query the list of designations to show in the list based on THIS contribution date.

The Maintain Repeating Contributions screen at best has a Next Release Date field, but wouldn't be able to present you with an accurate list of designations to choose from, based on however long into the future you use this repeating contribution entry.

I'm not sure what the expected behavior would be when you are setting up a new repeating contribution. Only include Designations that are currently or will be active at some point in the future? Then when you come back to that Maintain Repeating Contributions screen in the future, would it show you the out of date selection (a designation that is no longer active) you previously made?

It's tricky when you dig into the details of how it would actually work...
