Accounting Setup

Ok I am trying to set up my accounting. I have entered the balance of my account and have now enter the uncleared deposits and checks. When i click the next button a window pops up and asks me to enter a date less than Feb 1 2005. I have entered 01/31/2005 in all transaction but still it comes up. What's the deal? :( :( :(
