Multiple site churches

Post by Justine Loker »

Does anyone have any ideas on how to set up 2 churches on Powerchurch? This is one church with 2 locations. We would like to keep the memberships together but be able to seperate them out for mailings etc. We will be working out of one location and therefore this is not a licensing issue. I have called tech support and they suggested writing in this forum to receive ideas. Thanks.

As you want to keep the membership database together, it would be easiest to create two different sets of mailing list statuses and personal profile statuses.

For instance:

Location 1: Elm Street
Mailing List
  • Member - Elm
    Visitor - Elm
Personal Profile
  • Member - Elm
    Family Member - Elm
Then for location 2: Main Street, you would do the same but instead of Elm use Main in the status code.

As far as contributions, I'd use two different groups of fund numbers:
Location 1: 1 thru 999, and location 2: 2000 thru 2999

Then there's the funds accounting functions, which I have less experience, and really can't give you advice on.

If you didn't want to keep the database together, I would have suggested using two separate databases by installing PC+ into two separate directories to keep them separate.

Hope this helps

Using PC+ since 1999.
