Do version 9 maintenance releases or version 10 address the problem with quirky reporting? The forum responses seemed to fault Crystal Report versions, with no fix. Specifically, I'd like to be able to control page breaks (which seem to be arbitrary) in the Income & Expense Statement (Fund Accounting Report) in Power Church Plus or straightforwardly with an export to MS Word.
Thanks

This really isn't the place to cover problems with Accounting reports (should be asked under accounting to keep everything together), but as far as Maintenance Releases are concerned, they usually fix issues of report creation, but not formatting.
As you mentioned, Crystal Reports is the third-party subsystem that actually does the formatting of the reports. As this is a third-party program, all that the Powerchurch staff can do is pass on any fixes they get from 'Business Objects' the firm that writes the Crystal Reports program. AFAIK, these are usually passed on in Maintenance Releases when possible, and normally after testing to make sure they don't break the existing program.
As far as the page breaks of a report in Powerchurch, if I remember right, the system will query the properties of the default printer used, and use them in the formatting of a report.
On exports to Word, while you do get some default breaks, they are easily adjusted within Word to what you would like to see.

"Quirky" page breaks on Accounting reports are usually attributed to the "Page Break After Account" checkbox on the Maintain Chart of Accounts screen.
Take a look at the accounts surrounding the mysterious page breaks and see if any of them have that box checked.

Thanks, Zaphod, our treasure tells me it "worked like a charm". He volunteers a lot of time, so keeping him happy is important!
