How Do You Get W2 to not show Social Security Wages for Past

Post by tbettes »

I searched on this topic and could not find an answer.

When we run our W2's, the pastors income shows up in the social security wages and medicare wages. This makes the IRS think we owe them more money. Our pastor pays her own taxes and the IRS circular says we should write a W2 without an amount in the SS or Medicare boxes. Is there an easy way to do this.

We are on PC v9.

Thanks
Tom

Go to Accounting>Payroll>Maintain Item Descriptions. Select the the description for your Pastor's salary. Select the W2 tab and uncheck items 3 and 5. This should remove his income from those two boxes.
