Reorganize Account numbers

We have used Power Church for a little over a year now. The problem is...the accounts are not as organized as I would like them. I have called and asked someone the best way to reassign account numbers so they would be easier to locate. I was told I could start over from scratch. I have been trying to reinstall the program after uninstalling it so it will go back to factory setting, but it isn't going back to factory settings. I am wanting to start over on the accounting but not touch the membership, etc due to the amount of information that is in it. (pictures and all). Does anyone know why I can't go back to factory settings so I can redo the Fund Accounting? Is there an easier way to organize fund numbers. I am trying to better categorized them.

I'm told you can just install it again into a different folder on your computer, and have two versions available, old and new. It seems to be working for me. You run set up in accounting. Lots to enter.

If you want to restart the acounting module, you can also goto File -> Preferences -> Accounting Setup. On this form there is a button that says restart accounting. This will allow you to go through the accounting setup assistant again.

Is there an easier way to change the accounting numbers. Can I change the expense accounts to the 8000 numbers and then start with changing them back to the number that I would like them to be.

Sure can ... you just can't delete accounts that have entries posted to them, but you can renumber using this technique. The system will track all the changes automatically, and update all the entries needed.
My suggestion, once you've reset all the accounts to the 8000 range, before you change them to the final number scheme, I'd due a
reindex of the database (under UTILITIES) to make sure the system has a refreshed index table.

Neil,
Thanks for your help. That was so much easier than restarting the accounting.
