Screen is frozen

I was entering contributions and clicked on the magnifying glass to select the individual. Now I have both screens open and neither one will close. I try to exit Power church and it won't. I shut the computer down and it comes back up to the exact thing. It's stuck and will not do anything. Help

Not exactly accounting (falls under contributions .. however). Let me seek to clarify this:
1. Entering contributions, you were trying to do a search to find an individual.
Did the screen then freeze at that time, or after you tried to select the individual ??
2. You tried to cancel out of the search, and you couldn't.
Did you try CTRL-ALT-DEL to bring up the process list and shut it down from there ??
3. You rebooted the system, and Powerchurch came right up ??
That is unusual ... can you be more specific?
