New employee does not appear when I process payroll

I added a new employee. She shows up in the list of employees when I go to payroll -> maintain list of employees. Yet, when I go to payroll -> process payroll, only the old set of employees appears. What step have I missed?

Have you added them to any 'pay group, added pay items ??

Thank you! I had entered something under "payroll information", but I had not entered anything under "pay items". Problem solved.
