Unrestricted Net Assets

Post by silvertown »

Yikes! One of my restricted accounts is inflated (in error) by several thousand dollars and the credit of that amount is showing in Unrestricted Net Assets. How can I track down where and how that happened? It just shows a lump sum as settling to that account instead of a single transaction. (PC11.55)

Found it! (Still puzzled though...don't know how it happened)

I ran an Account Dependency Report and found that 4999 was reporting to one of my restricted funds. Once I corrected that, everything went back to normal.

strange...

Evidently, when the account was created, someone did not take the normal default of Unrestricted Net Assets, and used the Restricted Assets 3000 series account.
