subaccounts

Post by maviszook »

I am new to the accounting and am taking on the job at our church. I see that we don't use the subaccounts. Our accounts all just go -000. I guess that is fine, but we are just not taking advantage of all the potential usefulness of the subaccounts? (v.9)

Depends on your situation. I find the sub accounts very useful for tracking things like designations. By using sub accounts you can often avoid having to set up separate accounting funds. The sub account report in Fund Accounting can provide a wealth of useful information if your chart of accounts is set up right.
