restructuring funds and accounts

Post by maviszook »

I am new to accounting and PowerChurch (v.9). I've been told ours was set up wrong originally and therefore difficult and the previous accountant (trained accountant) could not, even with much technical support from PowerChurch, fix it. It looks to me not so hard to transfer funds or restructure accounts. I'm afraid that I'm so naive that I'm dangerous! Comments?

One option if your accounting set up is as bad as it sounds is to restart your accounting. By doing so you could start your accounting modules over on a "clean slate". The disadvantage of restarting accounting is that it wipes out all the transactions in your accounting files. So it is not a action to take lightly, especially if you have been using the system for a while. I would recommend that you have another accountant (one that is good with general ledgers and fund accounting) take a look at your accounting files and what you're needing to do and advise you on the best course of action to take to fix your records.
