exporting the chart of accounts?

Hi all,

I would like to be able to export solely the chart of accounts from the application. Does anyone know of any way to perform this operation? I would like to experiment with changes to my chart of accounts, but would like to make a backup of just the chart as well as my normal backup process.

You can backup only the accounting modules through the normal backup, but that backs up the entire accounting system. There's no way to restore only the chart of accounts through the backup module.

Similarly, you can't export the COA, change it, then import it back, If you want to experiment, what I would do is install another copy of PC+ into a different directory, import the current files, backup that file and label it as a development backup, then you can play and restore at will.

THen when you're sure you've got the techniques to change the COA, and the COA the way you want it. Go to your live version, and make the final changes there.

This is probably the safeest way of doing it.
