Payroll that did not post

Post by wmumc327rb »

All of February payroll posted but one. I can see all payroll except this one in fund accounting-view posted transactions. When I double checked to see if anything was not posted, I got the message no transactions to post. The only place I can see this payroll is in fund accounting-modify unposted transactions. As soon as you click this the payroll pops up. This is the only unposted transaction. When I tried to reconcile February checking account, this payroll is not on there. Any suggestions on how to get this one payroll to post?? Thanks, Renee

Renee,

the payroll posted to Funds Accounting, however there may be an issue with the transaction. If you tried to post it in Funds Accounting, are you seeing an error message when trying to post?

That's the message you need to relate here.

What issue with the transaction could there be? I went into payroll-maintain list of employees-check history. This payroll check from feb. 15. Is the only one not listed. When I printed the quarterly payroll report (Jan thru mar) for the 1st quarter 2017 taxes, this employees total salary was off by the exact number of the missing payroll check?? Any suggestions. Thanks, Renee

You said it was sitting in the Funds Accounting, Unposted Transactions Queue. What happens when you try to post it? I'm not saying to EDIT it, just post it? Does it give an error? If it does PLEASE relate the entire TEXT of the error message.

We can fix the payroll issue very easily by running payroll for that date, process that employee only and selecting MANUAL CHECK at the summary review screen just prior to printing. Enter the number of the actual check issued as the number for the manual check. On the next page you should just have the option to print stubs. Print that stub, and then click FINISH.

Then post payroll, but change the option to POST TO PAYROLL ONLY, not to Funds Accounting. This will update the payroll module's reports and tax information.

Curious. Did you ever resolve this issue? I had a similiar problem with a payroll check once and found that I had accidentally typed in wrong check date year for check which obviously kept it from showing up.
