Reports not showing actual amounts

Post by MaplewoodUCC »

I am relatively new to Power Church. I have entered and posted contributions as well as checks. When I run a budget report, I only get the budgeted amounts, not the actual amounts. If anyone could help with this, I would greatly appreciate it!

Not exactly sure what you mean by posting contributions as well as checks?

Did you post to Contributions, then post to Funds Accounting ??

Yes, all the posted contributions were posted to Fund Accounting, yet don't show up in reports. Maybe I should make the plunge and call tech support?

Check one of the Contribution Fund numbers that you used.

Look at the Accounting Tab.

What Fund Accounting accounts are listed? They should be something like this:
DB 01-1110-000
CR 01-4010-000

My guess is that there are no Accounting Funds associated with your Contribution Funds, and that when you posted to Fund Accounting, nothing happened as a result.

In other words, it will look something like this:
..-....-...
..-....-...

Believe it or not, I did associate each of my contribution funds to an account number on the accounting tab of the "Maintain List of Contribution Funds" screen. I have my 90 days of tech support. I think this one here is important enough to start using it.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions!

Debbie:

I'm not trying to discourage you from using tech support, but at this point, I'm curious as to what is happening.

If you would like to try something, find one of the account numbers that you assigned to a Contribution Fund. Let's say it's 01-1110-000

Go into Fund Accounting / Reports / Account Activity
and run the report for
Fund 01 to 01
Account 1110 to 1110
Sub-acct all to all

I'm just curious to know if there is anything there.

Thanks.

Thanks so much for your suggestions, but yes I did get results in the Account Activity Report, just not on the budget report? I have taken a screen shot of the accounting tab from the Maintain Contribution Funds window. Maybe something here is incorrect? Again, all ideas much appreciated.http://maplewooducc.org/images/pccontr.jpg

Debbie:

I'm starting to get the picture.

You will only get actual amounts on accounts where you have made entries. In this case, it looks like you have an income account in your image of 01-4010?

When you run your budget report, you do not show an actual amount for that account?

Just to verify something ... when you go into the Funds Accounting module, there are no transactions waiting under the Unposted Transactions function, right ??

Neil,

Thank you! There we unposted transactions and there were some errors. I fixed a few things and lo and behold, I now have actuals!

Thank you and everyone else who has kindly given your time and input!

You're welcome ... I reviewed the thread and realized that you may have confused the part about posting TO Funds Accounting and the actual posting transactions UNDER Funds Accounting.
