I just upgraded my Windows 7 PC to Windows 10. I am running version 11.1 of PC+. I tried to send a gang email (about 350 addresses) through Family and it keeps locking up PC+ at about 5% sent. I have to use Task Manager to get out of PC+. On one om attempts I did get an error message (but I did not get it in other attempts)
mailassist.0bulkmail.ADD_NAMES
Line 7
Error 1440
OLE object may be corrupt
I unistalled PC+ and reinstalled (updated it to the latest maintenance release and restored my latest database). It still "locks" up at around 5% with no error message.
I have been send gang emails of this size with PC+ (on Windows 7) for several years with no problem. Is this a PC+ Windows 10 issue?

I don't think this is a Windows 10 issue unless Win10's firewall is causing issues. Try sending a test email to a few peoplebrentbond wrote:I just upgraded my Windows 7 PC to Windows 10. If that works, then try adjusting the settings for bulk emails to just send 50 emails at a time, and see if those go fine.

Re: Sending Emails To A Group
For years I have had my email default to 40 messages at a time every 6 minutes to get around appearing as a potential spammer by my ISP so I dont think that is the problem. Like I said it processed about 5% (about 14 emails) before PC+ "locked up" so I know that it was actually sending things. I sent a gang email to the same 350 users this way last week (while I was still Windows 7) and no problems. It was only after I have upgraded to Windows 10.
Re: Sending Emails To A Group
OK .. so have you tried sending a test message to a selected number of users ?? No more than five, but that will exercise the system.brentbond wrote:For years I have had my email default to 40 messages at a time every 6 minutes to get around appearing as a potential spammer by my ISP so I dont think that is the problem. Re: Sending Emails To A Group
I just sent a test to 5 users of a group (I sent them as "tagged") per your suggestion. The screen showed that it sent 80% ..... gave me the "connecting to server" status (which is normal) and then PC+ "locked up".

Is the program working fine otherwise ??brentbond wrote:I just sent a test to 5 users of a group (I sent them as "tagged") per your suggestion. The screen showed that it sent 80% ..... gave me the "connecting to server" status (which is normal) and then PC+ "locked up".
Try this: right click on the PCPlus icon, select properties, then select the Compatibility tab. Check the box for compatibility mode, and set the OS to Win7. See what happens

Re: Sending Emails To A Group
The "compatibility" change you suggested worked fine for the 5 email group sample. It sent them fine with no "locking up". I will test it with a larger group (my original 350) on thursday (I basically have to wait 24 hours before another big send again for ISP spam reasons).
Thanks
Thanks
