Family Profile

Post by rqrussell »

Does it make sense to include an individual over 18 years old that still lives at home in a family profile as opposed to having his/her own personal profile. For example, we have an individual that is 35 years old still living at home with parents. When we set up the family profile. Should this person have his own profile and be included in the family profile.

IMHO .. if they are over 18, and classified as an adult, they have their own family mailing list record, with their personal profile linked to that.

We do have one of the custom use fields setup to enter the parent's names to keep track of the relationship.

One other way to look at it... how would you print them in a church directory? We have one family with an adult child still living at home where they have pictures taken together and are printed in our directory together. But, if they're independent, you could list them separately. Just one other way to think about it. (But yeah, I tend to do separate profiles.)
