DIRECTORY

Post by TBCgunni »

In printing out the directory, I was wondering if there is a way to make page one (booklet/landscape style) blank and start with the A's on Page two? Otherwise it does not fold into a booklet right to be able to staple a cover on it. Thank you - Elida Jacobs

If you look at the order the pages are printing out (1,2,3,4,5,6, etc.) it won't fold up into a true booklet layout anyway. If you were to fold it up and staple it as is, then page 2 would be the back page of the booklet.

To get true booklet layout, your printer needs to be able to print duplex (both sides of the paper) and in booklet order. This will arrange the print job in the proper order and insert the blank page before page one and handle all of that automatically.

ok,

I have a related question that you touched on. My printer (HP a410c) does print on both sides. However, as far as I know, it does so when copying from the glass. I don't see a way to print both sides and in booklet form when sending a directory from my computer.

Any ideas? Have you run into this before?

Whether or not a printer will print duplex is a matter of two things:

1. The hardware. Evidently your printer (I'm assuming an inkjet) does have that capability.
2. The Printer Driver ... the driver should have settings that will allow you to print duplex. I would check your printer manual to be sure.

We have the same problem printing the church directory as a booklet. I don't think the software will allow you to choose printing duplex. Does anyone know how to print the booklet church directory and choose duplex for the printer?

Duplexing is a function of your printer driver, not Powerchurch. When you select the print icon on the report, click the Change Printer button, which will then allow you to select the printer properties to access the duplex settings.

I think others are still having the same problem. Even if I print duplex, the page numbers will still be out of order if trying to staple the directory together. It looks like the program needs corrected to put the page numbers in another order so when the book is put together, the pages will be in order. Since the page numbers are in numerical order, they will not be in that order when the book is put together and stapled.

If the "booklet" layout, soon to be called "half page" layout for this reason, doesn't work for you, use your printer settings to create a booklet directory out of one of the full page layouts.
