Group email says it sent, but did not
I sent a group email. As far as I can tell from the manual, I did it correctly. The system said the email was sent successfully. However, nobody received it. Any idea what I need to check on? Using PC 11

Have you run the test from the button located on the email setup?? This verifies that the connection from PCPlus and your internet service provider's outbount mail server is working.lcrawford wrote:I sent a group email. Then I would try this test. Make up a special group of two email addresses, and send a test email to that group. I'd make it someone who can receive it and call you right back.
In this way you can be sure its sending out properly.
I don't remember if there's any way to have the program create a log of the connection so, try that above and let us know what happens.

If you aren't on allowed email lists with the people receiving, your email will possibly be dropped into their junk folder or not accepted at all depending on how they have their spam filters set up. So it could be sitting in their junk or trash folder.
Sometimes when an email provider (their provider) rejects your email you will get a notice back in your email set up to send email.
When PowerChurch says it sent successfully that means the email server you entered into the program accepted your outgoing email but whether it actually reached the intended party or even made it to their inbox is sometimes a different story sadly.

I appreciate the feedback. I can send individual emails through PC (e.g. to email reports or tagged people). This time I was trying to send to everyone with a certain profile status. People who have received the emails before did not receive it this time. I am wondering if there is a step I missed in setting it up to begin with.

When you send individual emails, Powerchurch does not use its internal email routine, but usually uses the email program you have on your computer, Outlook or Outlook Express.lcrawford wrote:I appreciate the feedback. As has been mentioned, if the program gets an OK back from your ISP, then it assumes that all emails were sent OK. If not, you would get a message from within Powerchurch.
Have you checked to see if you were getting any 'bounces', that is returned emails, from any ISPs. Usually, they are sent back to the email address you have setup as the from, or reply to.
I would definitely test a group email by sending it to a few people who are willing to call you or email you back that they have received the email. If they don't get it, and you have no errors, then I would have them check their Junk Folders, or check to see if their ISP is blocking your ISP's email server.

Well, as far as I know I did nothing different, but this time it worked! Thanks!
