exporting in rich text

Post by tborgal »

At some point the export option in V11 for the Church Directory with pictures in rich text has been removed. The only option now available is PDF or text, and I am not even sure that test is available. Why was this removed? You can still export the directory in rich text if you do not include the pictures. We do some editing to the entries after export and this can no longer be done in PDF. If we could include the "Notes for Family" in the output we would not need to make the modifications after export. But if the option to export in rich text was available again we can continue to do the editing.

This was removed in a Maintenance Release a few months ago, because the export with pictures to anything other than PDF or HTML didn't work. Every picture would show the stock No Photo image, or show the first family's image over and over again for each family. That behavior was something messed up in Crystal Reports, so we weren't able to fix it, so we just removed the options that didn't work rather than leaving them there and not doing anything about the problem.

OK, so is it a possibility to have the Family Notes available to be included with the directory output.

It would be possible in a custom report. That isn't one of the options in the built-in reports, as you mentioned earlier.
