Birthday Entries

Post by DerekDerek »

I am struggling with the birthday entries most people do not give their year of birth so it makes inaccurate ages for people. Is there a bypass that allows just the month & day for the birthday without the year? Also I have this issue with anniversaries a lot of people don't have the year, is there a bypass for that also? Last when I print a report of just birthday and anniversaries is there a way to print that without posting peoples ages everybody wants to know each others birthdays to send cards to them but they are not happy about it posting the ages. How can I remedy this problem? Thank you, Kelli/ Admin/Assistant

There's an APP for that!! :D

Seriously, the programmers have setup a 'bypass' to cover such an issue. Use the number '9999' for the year, this tells the system that you don't have a year, so the date is valid, and don't try to calculate the age of the person. Yes, this works for anniversaries too.

In case you have a date that falls on Feb 29th, you should use "9996" which does the same thing for the leap year day.

As far as the birthday report, I'm assuming you're running v11.5. On the Personal Profile Birthdays & Anniversaries report, on the filter dialog that appears, you can uncheck the age/years married checkbox to eliminate them from the report.

Is there a way to remove the month & day from the report also so I can just print out the month with everybody's name only on the list for birthday's & anniversaries. Thanks, Kelli

Not in the standard reports system. You could do a custom report to pull that data, or just save the report to MS Word format, and then edit the output yourself.
