No, there is no mortgage, just an asset. This is an old schoolhouse that is "attached" to the church property, but since it was converted to a rental property, we need to pay the taxes on it, so we list it as a separate asset.

Adding building asset to a fund

Hello, I need to add a building to one of our funds. I have already run the accounting setup, and I need to do it manually. What I think I need to do is: 1. Add an account to the chart of accounts for the building (02-1610) 2. Create a transaction that has a DR to 02-1610 for the amount and a balanc...

Correcting Posted Payroll Item

Hello,

I have a posted payroll check that is incorrect. I reversed the posted transaction, corrected it and then reposted it, but I cannot figure out how to correct the payroll item.

Can someone let me know how I can correct the payroll item?

Thanks

Mike

If the medical reimbursement is completely tax free, you can define a second "Income" item for the minister, which is marked as Taxable Income: No. Split the amount of income between the two income items, one for the taxable amount, the rest for the amount of the pre-tax deduction. As a follow up t...

Pre Tax deduction

Hello, I am working on setting up the payroll part of PC 10. I have been paying the payroll by hand since the beginning of the year and I want to record what I have done already and use the system for the future. For our minister, we have an annual salary that we deduct a portion of the salary for m...

Thanks for the quick response. I do agree that the six accounts is a nightmare. I have not started looking at defining the investments yet. Would setting up the 3 different funds be practical if all of the bills are paid with the main checking account. The main checking account would be part of the ...

Need help setting up PC. Do I need multiple funds?

Hello, I am new to PC and I am taking over as the treasurer of our church. I have finally gotten a starting balance (records are a little messed up), and now I am trying to figure out the best way to go about things. We have one main checking account that all bills get paid from. In addition to this...

Migration from Quicken to PC+

Our church has been using PC+ for several years and versions, but mainly for tracking membership and contributions. Our current treasurer and past treasurers have been using Quicken to track all of the money for our church. I am trying to get the treasurer to use PC+ for his work, since Quicken is n...
